Question by Deeliciousbrownnies: Socks......?
A man has 43 pairs of socks in his drawer. 21 blue, 8 black, and 14 striped. The light bulb burned out and he cannot see into the drawer. How many socks must he take out to make certain that he has a pair of each?

(Stupidest question ever, but I wanna see if you can figure it out )

That one just came up at Math is Cool. Almost the exact wording.

I'd say the answer is 37. You could conceivably pull out all of the blue and striped socks (21 + 14) before getting to the black, at which point you'd only need 2 more.
