I have my ps3 hooked up to my wireless router. I ran through all the steps to connect my ps3 to the router. It goes through all the steps but at the end says error with DNS server.

The DNS server is the router itself. It assigns an IP address to the devices that are trying to connect to it. So basically the error means that the PS3 can't connect to the router. There is a problem with the settings you're using on the PS3, or otherwise there is an issue with how the router itself is configured. A common issue might be if you select the wrong type of encryption on the PS3 or if the password you input doesn't match the one stored on the router. Another possible issue is if you have the router configured to only allow certain MAC addresses to connect. There are quite a few potential problems; the ones i named are just a few.
