Question by stealthweasle: Servers: What percentage of bills do you make in tips on average?
I'm a new server at a restaurant and have been on the floor about three weeks. I average 15% almost perfectly (I get some big and some very small with few average tips mixed in). I'd like to know what more experienced servers earn so that I have an idea on what I can expect as I gain more experience.
Thanks!

That sounds about right. As you get more experienced, you will find people's "buttons" and what it takes to make the most possible money with each customer. You could end up averaging 30%, and If you make it to the bar you will make even more.
You have to pay attention though, and be as efficient as possible. "full hands in, full hands out"
