the difference between mp3 and mp4 is that mp4 can play videos while mp3 can't .

There's no such thing as an MP5 yet, or maybe never. If you see MP5 somewhere it's a marketing ploy by some crappy company that produces knock offs of quality gadgets and tries to make people believe that it's as good or better than the competition.
