Question by Eywrshp: Does your post office give you an acceptance scan and a receipt for electronic delivery confirmation?
The post office web site says " retail and electronic delivery confirmation are both entitiled to the same infomation".
But some post offices refuse to give you an acceptance scan or a receipt for labels printed online even when you've included insurance in your mailing label.
How can you collect on a claim for lost mail if the post office will not give you a receipt?
You have no proof that you ever took the mail to the post office.
When you took it or what post office you took it to.
Is it right for the post office to refuse to give you receipt because you printed your postage online?

Depends on service you used to mail the package. If you use paypal shipping, the receipt in your history with the tracking number. Using click n ship, it can be set to print a receipt too...Request delivery confirmation rather than insurance. It is often included free with on line postal purchases....No other receipt is necessary. Using the delivery confirmation tracking number, you can check the shipment to see it being moved through the postal stations...You can even request an email everyday until the package is received...
