Question by Mike: How dramatically does a sound card increase audio quality?
Right now I have Logitech X-540 speakers.

When I play audio out of ONE of the speakers, the sound is really bad / low quality.

When I'm sitting in my chair regularly though, it sounds fine because I hear all of the speakers at once and the sub-woofer.

If I bought a decent sound card, would the audio quality increase in the separate speakers? Right now I'm just using the on-board Realtek HD audio.

Also, would buying a better sound card make the audio just sound better in general?

The soundcard really doesn't improve the quality much. Most modern cards are awesome. The speakers and equalizers make the most difference.
