Hi, me and my friend are thinking of going to Thailand, but we really want to avoid the whole crazy sex and drinking scene. What places can you recommend , we like traveling around countries etc. Also is it safe in Thailand to travel away from the main tourist parts?

Just about everywhere in Thailand will suit you. Just don't go to the few places catering to nightlife for foreigners. Avoid Pattaya, 3 streets in BKK, one street in Phuket, one street in Koh Samui. You won't see any of that stuff unless you go looking for it. I think you are falling for the misconception that Thailand is a huge brothel. It is NOT and Thai people are more conservative socially than most westerners.
Thailand is very safe to travel, you might avoid the southern provinces where the muslims want to live in Malaysia, but other than that the worst that is likely to happen is some sneak thievery.
