Question by Sam R: Why does the light on my ceiling fan work, but not the fan itself?
In installing my new ceiling fan, I hooked the black and the blue wires from the fan to the black wire from the ceiling box. I then hooked the white to white, and mounted the fan to the ceiling. I now have operating lights, but no usage of my fan? In a previous attempt, I hooked the black to black, white to white, and blue to red and got the opposite result: The fan worked but not the light...How do I get the light and the fan to work?

THERE ARE TWO SEPARATE SWITCHES. THE SWITCH FOR THE FAN MIGHT BE FAULTY OR THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE WIREING WHICH IS ALSO SEPARATE. GOOD LUCK!
