my brother has been doing affiliate marketing for years.
He says that it's a numbers game.
You can have meetings where you can explain the benefits of your product and probably sign up a few people. On average, I hear, that out of 5 new affiliates 1 will actually get to work and promote the product/s
You could also make a flyer & hand then out to people - make some personal contacts
